Google will be purchasing demographic data from theTV rating agency Nielsen, in what appears to be the first major move by the search giant in targeting the TV ad space.
"This is the first time that advertisers and agencies will have this level of detailed measurement available in a single place and at such a large scale," a statement announcing the news on Wednesday said.
Google's multi-year partnership with Nielsen spans well with its deal with other Cable partners (WebProNews), to essentially measure up the metrics to woo the best advertisers in the TV industry. And the new announcement further adds to Google's expanding market cap (currently about $200 billion).
