With the holidays quickly approaching, several news stories have focused on various tech-centric gifts that are currently available on the market. I had the opportunity to try out a couple of these desktop toys, including a set of USB Heating Slippers from Perpetualkid.com. Take a look at the photo gallery: "Desktop toys: Heated slippers."
I have to give the slippers a thumbs-up in the cute and warm categories, but the USB cord is on the short side (approximately 3 feet long), which makes it difficult to sit comfortably unless you have a CPU tower that sits on the ground. Unfortunately, I have a desktop unit, and stretching the cord was awkward at best.
Do you have desktop toy recommendations or advice about ones that we should stay far far away from?
