Last year, I had the pleasure of attending BlogHer 2007. The annual conference, held in July, was hosted at the Navy Pier in Chicago. To quickly get up to speed on this event, check out the links to my previous BlogHer coverage at the end of this post.
BlogHer 2007 was a blast, and the business connections were so outstanding — most notably for the Women in IT series on TechRepublic — that BlogHer 2008 definitely made my list of conferences to attend this year.
Elisa Camahort, one of the cofounders of BlogHer, took some time out of her busy schedule to talk a little bit about the different events that BlogHer is hosting in 2008. These events include:
- BlogHer Business '08 — April 3-4, 2008, in New York City
- BlogHer '08 — July 18-20, 2008, in San Francisco
- BlogHer Reach Out Tour — one-day conferences in the following cities along the East Coast: Boston, MA; Washington, DC; Greensboro, NC; Nashville, TN; Atlanta, GA; and New Orleans, LA. The dates have yet to be announced.
Listen to the podcast to find out more about these events, how the conferences deal with issues like Internet connectivity and security, and why IT professionals — both women and men — should care about BlogHer.
