It seems like programmers are offered new paradigms on a nearly daily basis. While many look like good ideas, we obviously cannot try them all, since it can often take weeks or even months to know enough about a system from working with it to determine if it is worth using in an actual product. No matter what, we are trying to balance the risks and rewards of a new system.
