Microsoft keeps adding new options to how developers can get data to the screen, while continuing to support the older technologies. While Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) and Silverlight got a lot of attention over the last several years (only to be supplanted by the new Windows 8 native applications), I always suspected that there was — and still is — a large contingent of developers who are using WinForms. The same can be said for ASP.NET WebForms and ASP.NET MVC.
