Take this as a geek DVR alert. CNBC is airing a special called "Meeting of the Minds: The Future of Technology" on Tuesday at 8:00PM Eastern.
In terms of covering the technology space, the mass media usually does a mediocre job, at best. Still, many of us who care about the tech industry like to follow the general coverage of technology so that we can keep up with the perception of tech among the broader public.
With that in mind, some of you will want to set your DVRs to record CNBC's Meeting of the Minds: The Future of Technology on Tuesday night from 8:00-9:00 PM Eastern.
The host is CNBC's Maria Bartiromo and the panelists include U.S. CIO Vivek Kundra, Cisco CTO Padmasree Warrior, and former Digg CEO Jay Adelson.
Some of the featured topics will include:
- The future of productivity
- Tech's key influencers
- Digital privacy
- IT security
- Cyber terrorism threats
- Alternative energy
You can expect there to be lots of softball questions and probably not enough questions about the negative possibilities and uses of technology. Nevertheless, it's an opportunity to see where we are in terms of our national and global dialog on the role of technology in transforming society.
