Video: The future of airline boarding passes

Flying commercial airlines involves a series of inefficient processes. This video from SmartPlanet.com shows how one of those processes, the paper boarding pass, will soon be streamlined using cell phones.

I've spent a lot of time in airports the last two months (in fact, I'm actually writing this post from Chicago Midway) and during that time I've become well acquainted with how many inefficient processes there are when you fly commercial airlines. That's why you have to arrive at least two hours early in many airports.

One of those processes — the paper boarding pass — will soon be streamlined with the help of cell phones as explained in this video from SmartPlanet.com, TechRepublic's new sister site.
