I wrote a review of the ASUS WiCast EW2000 Wireless HD Video Transmitter and Receiver for the Geekend Blog this morning, but I wanted to mention it here because the gadget is also well-suited for productivity uses.
In more and more situations, you will be asked to connect your notebook PC, tablet, perhaps even smartphone to a multimedia display that accepts an HDMI connection. With the WiCast system you can connect to such display devices wirelessly, saving time and aggravation.
The standardization of the WHDI protocol greatly simplifies connections. Even though the system is wireless, using it is almost as simple as a standard HDMI cable connection. The ASUS WiCast EW2000 is a fine example of a technology that just works — one that will have you asking "Why didn't we have this years ago?"
