bootable disk or cd for windows XP

I have try to make a bootable disk so I can start windows xp from a floopy or cd and have not been able is there a way.

just adding to chas' comment. Once you boot with a Dos type disk with cdrom support you will need to change to the I386 directory on the XP CD and run winnt. So if your Cdrom is D then: d:\I386\winnt will start the install process. It will be very slow as there is not usually support for smartdisk(or whatever its called). Best bet is to try set the options in BIOS to boot from CD as some of the others have said. Although for some reason some PCs are picky and will not boot this way(even whenthey are able too).

I have made a cd and used floopy to break open, but when i used it, it cause more problem so I'm not using them any more. Thank you for your help
