I am not totaly sure if the answer I am to give you is what your asking, however if you want to access a Winnt domain you need to have the CLIENT FOR MICROSOFT NETWORKS installed within the NETWORK settings.

Select the properties of this CLIENT and tick the box, LOG ONTO WINDOWS NT DOMAIN and insert the NT server name in the box.

When you restart Windows you will be prompted for an NT domain password

You need two things besides the hardware driver. 1. The client software. In your case microsoft client. Configure domain as the winnt domain. Name the computer as a unique name on network. Workgroup may be same as nt workkstation. 2. You need a transport protocol. Enable netbeui if enabled on PDC and/or tcpip with the same network enabled and masked properly. That should do it.

Step by Step procedure (everything after nic installed)

1.Goto Network properties
Start - Settings - Control Panel - Network

2.Install Client for Microsoft Network
Add - Protocol - Client for MS N

3.Configure Client for MS Network Highlight Client, click properties
Choose Log on to Windows NT Domain
Type name of domain you are logging onto
Hit OK

4.Click Add, Protocol, Add and Choose Netbui
When Netbui is installed, hightlight it and click properties. Clickthe Advanced tab
Make this the default protocol.

5.Click Add, Protocol, Add and choose TCP/IP
Either manually type address or use DHCP (if you have DHCP)

6.Network Properties, choose Identification tab. Give computer a unique name, in workgroup put the name of the domain you are logging onto.

That should be it. When all protocols are configured, you should be able to log onto domain and see other machines/resources on it.
