Are you using a laptop ?...

by OldER Mycroft In reply to the curser moves when t ...

If so, there will be a key combination that will disable your touchpad, stopping your wrists from moving the pointer while you are typing.

On my laptop the combination is Fn+F7 - your keybaord may be different - check for a key with a pointing finger on it.

If you're using external mouse and keyboard ...

by OldER Mycroft In reply to Cursor on my laptop

I don't anticipate that my previous post will be of much good in your present circumstance.

The external mouse and keyboard should override the touchpad and chassis-mounted keyboard and my diagnosis is now invalid if your wrists have no chance of straying across your touchpad as you type.

All I might suggest is - if your mouse is one of the optical ones, check that you don't have a Cat Hair or some miniscule piece of detritus stuck in the LED Laser cavity under the mouse. This can move about and cause all sorts of problems.

Also check the Mouse for stability

by OH Smeg Moderator In reply to Cursor on my laptop

I've seen quite a few optical Mice move a cursor without the mouse moving one little bit. This is happening because the Surface that they are on is uneven or vibrates about causing the Opticals to incorrectly sense movement.

When this happens I slow down the response of the Mouse from Mouse in the Control Panel.

Apple??

by kenmcgeester In reply to Wild Mouse

It is time for me to be replacing my system as it is now 5 years old and a three year old update. I have never considered Mac until now and have gone so far as to look up prices, configurations and reviews. I do believe that the needle is in their direction.
