2 routers, workgroup doesnt display all computers connected to them

    by babel19 ·

I run on a workgroup and recently we installed 2 routers to run all the computers off, 1 is strictly for LAN computers and the other is for wireless laptops.

But unfortunately ive come accross a problem in that when we look on the workgroup bit (which we use to share files) it only displays the computers/laptops connected to that router. E.g. lan router doesnt display wireless latops.

I have come accross a way to fix that by connected the 2 routers together via a cable but this has made the internet so slow that its not possible to use.

Any help? Would be appreciated thanks

What ype of router you are using, but it seems to me that your 2 routers are each issuing IP addresses in a different range. You should disable the DHCP server facility on the wireless router and use it as an access point to the other router.

        Router concept

You need to understand Router Concepts. Each router is responsible for it’s OWN network. So, the laptops on one router are on a different Network than the Laptops on the Other router. You need to connect them somehow and add each other’s network to the other for access.
