Access Upgrade for Office 2003 Basic – Is it Possible?

    Locked

    by chromacat ·

One of our office PCs has MS Office 2003 Basic installed. Now the user needs MS Access to do some work.

Is it possible to use an Access 2003 Upgrade license to add Access to this PC?

Or do I need to purchase the full retail version?

    TIA,

    DD

Without older version of Access, you have to go with a full retail version. Office 2003 Basic only has Excel, Word and Outlook, therefore you can’t use Access upgrade on it.

On the Access 2003 How to buy page* on Microsoft’s website, it said that Office 2000 Small Business Edition & Office 2000 Standard, Office XP Standard and SBE, heck even Works editions would qualify. None of these products came with Access.

*With the launch of Office 2007, that MS page is no longer available, so I had to hit the Wayback archives to check:

        Anyway, thanks for replying.
