Those eyries of late? Or, are they tolerated and welcomed back for hit count?

Max is here.

by AnsuGisalas In reply to Maybe it would be better ...

Haven't you noticed? You speak of him in the past tense, but he's just as here as he used to.
Now he just mostly gripes and swipes... Which is what I'm pissed off about.

Live and let live, do your thing, and don't begrudge others their thing.

Otherwise we choke the last life out of this thing. It's our own fault if we don't bring something useful here, mine too. Let us stop that.
Let us bring it on!

Of course, sometimes a good fight can clear the air.

No white board necessary.

It's all online here, reviewable at any time.

Beat me to it.

These two have been going at it for longer than AG has been a member here; a LOT longer. santee is incapable of letting anyone have the last word, no matter how obviously ignorant the other correspondent has proven to be. Max used to be a much better debater; his skills appear to have atrophied during his recent absence. Both have long brought out the worst in each other.

I see the same.

I make no judgment about Maxwell's potential skill atrophy, only about the application.
Specifically, I think this place could really use what Maxwell would have to give, if he'd quit tilting at windmills.

Palmetto - I'm surprised by your skewed view

by maxwell edison In reply to Beat me to it.

Generally speaking, one could probably assume that another's debating skills, per se, might remain constant (unless there's the onset of dementia) . But one's patience, however. That is what might be subjected to a state of flux.

Do I really need to remind you of this?

Santee, in my opinion, is the worst thing that's ever stumbled upon TR. But not to be out done, Ansu is racing to catch him.

I call 'em as I see 'em.

Ansu & I

By my estimation, escape yours -- well, wide, and beyond. You remain an extraordinarily good maker of buggy whips, though.

I rest my case

Well that you should

What is there that you can say.

Palmetto - You've been here a long time. As have I

by maxwell edison In reply to Beat me to it.

Do you remember way back to the early days, when the TR folks actually looked for ways to squash the "off-topic" discussions? I do.

They discovered it was a losing battle. But they also discovered a bit of wisdom, and they turned that lemon into lemonade. I was actually the first one to call "this place" the "water cooler".

Well, from my perspective, Santee (to a large degree), and Ansu (to a lesser degree) did in a few months what TR could not accomplish in years. They caused the "water cooler" run dry.

Right

By flushing the Water Closet.
