Basic install

I am trying to install 03′ Server or XP and my keyboard & mouse stops working right at the “Welcome to Setup” screen. Right before that the keyboard and mouse lights flicker. I try to press enter but nothing happens.
Does any one have a clue, because I don’t?

Are they USB?

If they are, you have to wait till the system recognizes them. If it never recognizes them, you’ll have to use PS2 to get it installed, THEN switch to USB.

If they’re wireless, you’ll probably need to use PS2 till the system is installed.

If they’re already PS2, try a different set because those must be dead.

if they are ps/2 double check that they are plugged into the correct sockets.. as i have seen that cause simular problems

I pictured you as a brunette. It’s a lot easier for us to go grey as you don’t notice it so much. Well I didn’t until the hair dresser put the mirror up so I could see the back of my head. LOL

If someone had said ‘Hey you grey headed old fart sit down in front’ I wouldn’t have realised that they meant me. ]:)

Except, it wasn’t the hair dresser that told me! It was my daughter, laughing the whole time she showed me, of course! :_|

The ‘Other Half’ had been calling me the ‘Old Gray Mare’ for quite some time and I thought he was just jealous because he’s already fully gray. After all, blonds don’t get gray! :p

And, to those reading this post who notice the different spellings of the word gray/grey being used, there is no ONE correct way to spell it. Either is correct, depending on where you’re from.

Gray is a color (common spelling in the USA)

Grey is a colour (the rest of you)

my Mum went the lightest shade, she was nearly white but it looked really good. I used to torment her and ask if she was trying to start a new fad. My whole family including parents were blondes. In black and white photos we had whiter than white hair. We always stuck out in school photos. It did have its drawbacks though, a teacher could spot you a mile away. 😉

So even in a minority of ONE – gray can still be correct..

that I’m an Aussie. We get the best of both worlds. Give us a word and we’ll bugger it up. Probably get it from the Pom’s. 😉
