      Hi!

Remove all cards from PCI and ISA slots.
      Insert video card only.

Start computer if all goes well, turn off computer and insert next card and start computer, repeat until all cards are in.

If all goes well, you might just have had a loose card, or else you’ll find the card causing you trouble.

If Hasse’s suggestion if you still have problems then, it’s you motherboard causing the peeping. Mel

Check the manual and see if it reference to item the number of times of beeps, sound like the motherboard or the power supply.are your fans engaging on the cpu and not over heating.

Usually, when a PC beeps without stopping when you turn the power on, there are two culprits : the memory and the AGP card. One of them is bad plugged.

      1) You didn’t mention whether you have an AGP card or not. If you have one, know that pluggingan AGP card is the most unstable plug I have ever seen. You must push it well in the side opposed to the metal bar (the side in the middle of the motherboard). Then, you screw the card. Then you push again this side. Then you pull up (as if you wereunplugging it) the card from this same side just a little little. I know it sounds crazy but I came upon this problem too many times! Turn your PC on. If it beeps, push and pull the same side several times. The stability point is difficult to hit. Ialso found an ASP card which needed to be pushed extremely in the AGP slot. This is the dark side of the AGP!

      2) The memory could be badly plugged. You said you checked it. So it is more probable that your problem is rather AGP. But in the doubt, remove your memory a

      Hi ‘bia’,

for questions like this, please give more informations — so that the problem might be better located:

      a) who ist the ‘manufacturer’ of the bios ?
-remember the message on startup or
-look on your motherboard for a chip with a label on it or
-look into the manual deliverd with your computer (I hope!)

      b) how many times do the computer beep ?
-in example: AMI 11times means cache error/external cache bad
-or AWARD contingous beep: memory- or video-problem
-or IBM contingous short beeps: problem with the mainboard-power

      c) do you have changed the motherboard
-to a newer (with a newer CPU?) which perhaps need more electrical
      Power

      . . .

      best greetings
      Dieter
