boot option error in c-mos

after upgrading to millenium, floppy drive is no longer listed as boot option in c-mos. unable to flash bios due to floppy not being boot option. battery ok due to correct time being displayed and no losing time. any suggestions?

The problem is with the CMOS chip, it won't matter whether or not you have a floppy connected to the system. If there is no option to enable to boot from FDD then, either a virus has corrupted the BIOS or the chip itself is failing. To clear CMOS the best way is to remove the battery and insert it the wrong way round for a minute, then put it back in correctly. This will restore it to factory defaults. If this fails to correct the problem then you may need to contact the motherboard manufacturers.
