boot up

My floppy will not work when tring to boot up after formatting hard drive nor can I boot up from cd rom. When booting from floppy it goes through the bios system recognising the hard drive ect. and then nothing, it will not go to A: prompt The floppy drive cd rom drive and the boot up disc all work on another computer. Help would be appreciated.

Ok, a lot of answers are rejected

Check the memory, make sure it is properly seated also some card is properly inserted to the expansion card?

Hard drive should properly connected?

Now if the BIOS display,,,those you mentioned try to enter and make some changes to the setting that you know, But if you don't know some parameters in the BIOS look for the manual

Have you checked the jumpers on the hard drive?

I have seen systems lock just after hardware detection if the hard drive was set for master instead of single.

Double check the orientation of the floppy cable too.

Ihave now solved this problem , I have bought a new motherboard. Thanks to all who submitted their suggestions.
