Let me know if you get 100% on the first go, it took me 2 tries to get there.

Well in that case

by HAL 9000 Moderator In reply to Today

I'll look in tomorrow.

Currently as I can not get into the bath SWMBO is throwing me down the front stairs and hosing off the Blood and other stuff that accumulates. She is currently refusing to throw me down the back steps as there is grass down there which may break my fall and not hurt anywhere near as much.

But as I can not work at the moment I'm defiantly loosing track of the days.

they do say tender loving care is the best for recovery...
Do you still have the bird problem? You can always try to land on those, if any are around. They'll break the fall a bit, and might be edible, once croaked!

We had the builders here a week or two ago

by HAL 9000 Moderator In reply to Well...

And the Lorries left. Unfortunately it didn't last and they are now back with a Vengeance. As SWMBO son described them there where so many I thought that the tree would fall over. Anyway that tree is out the back so I'm not allowed near it.

On the new back landing yesterday there where at least 50 of the horrible things fighting and making the biggest noise possible, not to mention driving me nuts. Anyway as it's now official that SWMBO is driving me to bankruptcy they are only eating 15 loaves of bread a day but now they are getting honey on that bread not just the bread.

Talk about being Spoiled!

I have squirrels that periodically steal from my bird feeders. I don't mind much about the sunflower seed but suet is expensive. Nothing that a generous coating of hot pepper sauce won't cure...

And I was waiting still, as it started,

for it to say which two buttons. I thought keyboard keys had been implied, not mouse-activated hotspots.

Honestly that was the reason

I blew it on the first try, needed to find the interface, you were successful right?

It is actually difficult till you turn off reading in your mind.

Yeah, I've done this and similar before.

You need to disengage processing for, or reactions to, the inappropriate stimuli. For me, the longer such a test goes on, the more likely I am to err from losing focus, and I have a hard time resetting afterward.

What I find more difficult is to speak the name of the color without reading the word instead. It's harder to keep the irrelevant verbal processing suppressed.

The test I posted is

very short, it falls into what is called the Stroop effect, exactly what you describe.

Yes, it was very short.

by seanferd In reply to The test I posted is

What else is revealed by this test and discussion? That I made no association with Stroop test/effect or Stroop's (way popular) paper until you mentioned it. Which says something about the way my memory works.

Laws, sounds like prefrontal cortex damage!

The test...

by Tigger_Two In reply to Yes, it was very short.

They actually use a form of this test to gauge impulsivity. Impulsivity is an element of executive function, which can be damaged if certain dysfunctions are present and during normal grieving.

The Stroop effect is also an element of some testing to determine an individual's executive functioning. But that part of the testing is looking at inattentiveness.

Remember, Seanferd, you asked!
