Browsers Dead . . .

I KNOW BETTER THAN TO GO WITH A STANDARD ANSWER OF "TIME TO REFORMAT AND START FROM SCRATCH" -- THERE'S ALWAYS A SOLUTION.
I use AOL 5.0, Netscape 4.7x and MSIE 5.01 -- until just recently all three worked well together. I am running Windows 98(I purchased the upgrade version, not the full install). I've also complete the recommended Critical Updates. Now anytime I access Netscape or MSIE I get memory IPF errors (and the program crashes), though AOL's browser works fine. With MSIE and Netscape, usually the first page loads fine and then crashes. Everything else works fine as well. I also prefer using Netscape as my primary browser. I've uninstalled and reinstalled all three and still get the same results. I also reinstalled Win98. I've also tried falling back to Netscape 4.08 with no luck. I've also used the FullSoft bug fix on Netscape and that didn't help either. I'm running on kernel KERNEL32.DLL version 4.10.2222 (I also tried running with the previous rev of KERNEL v199. If you decide to remove AOL then before you do so go to their website as IIRC there is information on what if mucks up, and how to undo these changes.

choose anyone of them as your default browser and your errors will be gone.if you choose the ie5 as your default it is a selfhealer having the feature of repairing itself when its files are gone bad.

OK, Instead of reformation, lets try these options 1st!!

Download RegClean 1st.. install on your computer then:
Remove Aol.50 Netscape 4.7 and MSIE 5.0.... and TCP/IP protocols . Shutdown your computer... power back up... Do a scandisk not a throrugh and then defrag if necessary.. also go into regedit, then go to hkey/local machine/software/ then look for any registry keys with aol, netscape or msie.. searhch the registry by doing find next.. then finally re-install all of the above... this should work!! good luck
