Buyouts by major manufacturers, what are you doing?

By The Weekly Geek ·
Tags: Off Topic
LG Electronics bought SMC (switches)
Dell bought SonicWall
Cisco bought Meraki
Intel is going to quit making motherboards
I am sure there are many others.

What are you doing? Are you looking for alternatives?
Are you still buying those devices?

Blue is my favorite color,

always has been. Though I do like some shades of red as well. Not sure if it makes me look younger or not, but I try not to become "old", and find that if I challenge myself with new things, it keeps my brain from growing too many cobwebs!

Age is only a number

Unfortunately it climbs and climbs without ever rolling over to 0 again but that's life and the short experience we have to enjoy it. Whether you are 8 or 80, besides physical limitations, age has no bearing.

That makes more sense then

A lot more actually. Your OP comes across as if you found a merger/acquisition to be new and you were put off by it.

I agree, when companies get TOO big, everyone suffers including employees.

My name isn't actually Oz either, people just equate me to being the same guy due to my reversed alias and an old avatar. I know Oz, I've even posted as Oz (a few of us shared the account), but i'm not the same Oz most around here knew. Not all the time anyway.

How many personalities do you have?

by Slayer_ In reply to That makes more sense the ...

I like to only keep 2 or 3 around at a time. Keeps it interesting, but not confusing.

By golly, I may have to get another persona here too!

I've had this one a long time, this particular iteration since 2001...prior to that it was just Wizard57M...but the email used for that one has gone to the great ether heaven...that was a good ISP also, darn it. I used to come though here on my old IBM PS2 with DOS 6.22, and a 2400 BAUD modem using dialup and a text browser based on Lynx called Bobcat...that was around 1997 or so. I still have that old IBM PS2, and the predecessor I had to that one, am ARMSTRAD PCIII, with dual 5.25 inch floppy drives, DOS 3.3! I don't know why I kept them, but I did.

Of course, you also have to get each of those personalities its own Facebook page, Twitter stream, followers, Social Security number, etc.

My second personality is Loverock Davidson

Now wait a minute!

I have it on good authority that Loverock Davidson is in fact Linus Torvalds! Anyway, that's what HAL says!

He's confused because Linus is my third personality.

Oh, and HAL's my fourth...
