Can you add a disk to C drive?

By joegrosskopf ·
I know in NT4 you could not add another disk to the C:\drive. Can you do this in Windows 2000 server?

If you are running a hardware RAID5, then yes, you can just throw an additional disk (if the array is hot-swappable), and extend the RAID to include this new disk.
If you are using Win2K RAID5, then you should be able to add another drive to the RAID also. This means that your C: drive is a Dynamic disk (like others mentioned). Therefore, you should be able to increase the size of the RAID by adding a new disk.
Personally, I just trust a hardware array more than a software array.
