Can't boot XP

By shells ·
I am hoping you can help me with this please. I have a P4 mesh elite (yes I know) 300gb/1024mb
It is 3 months old and twice I've had a start up problem, the first one was resolved with the repair disc pressing R and it was fine.
This time its different, the system starts and goes through all the checks and then hangs at the xp page where it is just going to show you the users.
I cannot get into safe mode as it does the same, or anything else on that page of options.
I cannot do a repair as there is no option on the disc ?
I can get into the repair console and I've done a scan and a chkdsk /p and /r but I've no idea what else to try there.
And the only options I have on the repair disc are to partition or remove folder that xp is in and put a new installation in.
Please let me know if there is any way around this? michelle

Thats for all of your suggestions but I couldn't do most of them as I couldn't get into so much. After hours of searching - I reinstalled sadley I had to delete the old folder first so I lost alot of files but luckily alot had been backed up - just searching for my last couple of drivers now. But all up and running and no problems.
Great Website with loads of help, thank you all very much xxxx

To recover files from your formatted Disk, google File Recovery Software, there are some good ones out there, also, did you ever try

FIXMBR command?

Research it! It worked for me on the same issue I had with my PC
