Cisco routers (setting autodetect for calbing)

By chrisnett ·
Hello all,
I have just one question.
How can I set up our router to auto detect the type of cabling in use from our firewall to the fa 0/0 on the router?

Cisco doesn't auto detect

You need to use a cross-over cable to go from one to the other. One should have come with your router.

If not, you can buy one or make one. In the download section on TR is a PDF on making network cables (cat5). It has both straight through and cross-over.

If you don't have the equipment to make a cable, it is cheaper to buy one.
