Cloned HDD 40GB...Says 3.4GB !!

By cyberghost_1 ·
I cloned a 3.4GB HDD to a 40.0GB HDD using Ghost. The source HDD was Win98 (NOT Win98SE) The cloned HDD was updated to WinXP PRO...now the problem is that the cloned HDD says it has 2.93 GB TOTAL !! I don?t remember how to get the HDD to show its actual size.
How can I clone a 3.4GB HDD to a larger HDD and keep the size of the Destination HDD...I have done it before but I think it happened without me purposely doing it...Any tips?
One other thing I went straight from the regular Win98 to WinXP PRO....
The PC is 800MHz VIA Samuel 2, 128MB RAM....

There are several programs that will resize an active partition.

Partition Magic is one I use the most.

Good Luck Lee

As pointed out earlier you have obviously cloned the partition and so the cloned HDD has taken the size of original HDD. Your unused space is still there and you can use the relevant disk manager to claim the remaining space or use parition manager to resize the partition.

One other thing: If you are using XP, then clone the partition using XXClone to destination partition.
