cmos error press f1

in a system this error occurs often
"cmos error press f1" if we go in to setup
and come out then the system works fine and
some other time when we restart or start the system it shows the same error.

i also tried changing the cmos battery
is there any solution

If you have not added any new hardware it may be a memory error try changing memory, if more than one bank and its more than a 486 remove one at a time to see if the error stops. You could try a bios update or replace bios chip.

Have you checked your motherboard BIOS settings? You may have configured them wrongly and may have caused a system conflict. If you are not sure of your settings, just set them back to default settings by loading the defaults. You can try to update your BIOS files by downloading one from the homepage of your motherboard maker, then flash your BIOS and see what happens. If that fails, try replacing the BIOS chip with another one, but this is usually done as a last option.
