Computer Constantly Freezes!

By ppoll ·
One of the computers in my network randomly freezes. It does this quite often, about evert 10-15 minutes. It seems to be a hardware failure, but I'm not sure what it could be. When it freezes, nothing works and my only option is to restart the computer. CTRL+ALT+DLT doesn't work, nor do the mouse or keyboard. Last time I used it, it froze in the middle of doing a scan disk (because it had just frozen before and not been shut down properly) and then when I tried to restart it, it wouldn't start. I heard the fan blowing, but that was it. Nothing else, it just stayed like that. Do you have any ideas what might be wrong with my computer.
Thanks for your help!

there are several causes for that but mostly loose hardware. if the pc using intel CPU that mounted by a slot 1 adapter, check to make sure it is not loose. take it off and remounted to the slot. make sure the momory, the VGA card are not loose, take them off and put them back on. make sure you have enough memory in the machine, check for IRQ or drivers conflict but it is most likely a hardware.

make sure all your expansion cards are reseated including your memory cards. restart your computer and access your bios, select load bios defaults and save before exiting.

It's not a problem with the fan, because that's working fine. Today I got the machine to go on, but it gets stuck when it's in middle of doing some of it's startup tests.
I get the following message:
Checking NVRAM..NO NVRAM

CMOS/GPNV-Checksum bad
Press F1 to run setup
Press F2 to load default values and continue.

at that point it freezes and I can't go any further. Do you have any idea what that message means?

It's a brand new machine, so an old CPU is not it's problem. And it has 128 mg of RAM so I don't think that's the problem.
