ctl – alt – del causing lockups

    Locked

My IBM 486/100 locks up each time I try to restart using ctl-alt-del, or any time any program restarts my system, restart in windows included. Restart in Dos mode works fine, but if I select “restart your computer” it locks up every time. It is not a windows problem because I replaced the HD with only running Dos and it still locks up each time ctl-alt-del is pressed. When it locks up, only a power re-cycle will restart it. I have reset the BIOS to default, which did not help, and also replacedthe processor. I know, it is a lot of trouble for a 486, but inquiring minds want to know, you know?
