Sounds like the power supply, got a multi-meter? If not, pull all the cards and disconnect power from all drives. If you get any closer to a boot (spinning fans or beeps) try a new supply. Still, it always could be the system board.

Pwr Good is a signal from the p.s. when it reaches about 80%. If excessive load on p.s. doesn't let this line come up the m.b. won't run. Pull all cards AND all fan loads (a locked fan pulls a bunch of energy). Now see if you can get a beep of some kind from the bios or maybe it may even boot. Had an oldie a couple of years ago where the Pwr Good line was open between the p.s. conn. and the 3rd plane of the m.b.. Drove me nuts. Good luck. dhpee

Possible causes:

1. Power Cord failure - even if it looks good, try another.
2. Power Supply failure - replace with a known good power supply
3. Motherboard failure - keep power supply, but use a known good motherboard for testing.
4. Memory failure - remove all memory except 1 bank and restart. If system still won't boot, replace bank 1 memory.

The above suggestions are from Upgrading and Repairing PC's technicains portable reference.

Remove everything from the board memory all slots even cpu leave only cables from power switch on case and try to turn it on if you get multiple signals it means that your motherboard is good and start pluging everything back one by one GieroT

Hello ..
Did you check the voltages at the plug end of the power supply.

Please plug in a hdd or somthing that will kick in the PWS before turning the Power Supply on.

If nothing is there .. you know the rest.

proccess of elimination ....
Power supply ok .. go to the next problem down the line ..
Disconect hdds and vidio card ..
Boot system and see if there is any life.
if it makes a beep or several,
Put the vidio card back in .. if that works then reconnect the hdd ...
Hope that helps ...

Greg
