Determining video driver

By dwtk9 ·
I recently formatted my computer. When I have a Cd that contains a lot of video drivers but I'm not sure which is the right one for the monitor .

How do I determine the right video driver and which screen area size to use.

I can't be trying all the video drivers.

Thanks

Ok, which one do you need Video or Monitor drive support? If you are running Win98 and your monitor is PNP, the OS will ask for driver support if needed. If it is for your videl card adapter, then you need to verify the chipset on the card itself, goto windrivers.com run a searh on the alpha/numeric digits on card. If Os is Win95, its going to take a little time and patients. Oh, by the way, where did you get this CD/floppy with all these drivers? If it did come with the card originally, I recommend not using it (or you need to scan it for viruses).

During the boot up of your computer, you can see the make and type of your video card right before it goes into the memory check screen. It also tells you your video bios version. If you are not using an onboard video card then I suggest taking yourcard out and looking at the make of it or you can try the manual.
