Disk Activity Monitor

By nschloss ·
I have a workstation that very frequently has disk activity occuring even when essentially idle with only Outlook and IE open. Task manager doesn't shed any light on the matter. Is there a utility or tool that I can use to monitor exactly what the drive is doing and which process/app is behind it?

Try this. Open a command window and type:

tasklist /svc and press enter

This will give you all running processes. Included the ones that just show up as svchost.

No longer a problem but tried this anyway - does not work on my W2k workstation.
