Disk Defrag and pagefile

By LDavidS ·
Is this possible.

I am looking for a way to disable virutal memory and reboot the system before a scheduled disk defragmentation is done. Then when the defragmentation is done i want to be able reset the virtual memory, without having to go to each machine indivudually. I have roughly 75 machines in three different locations.

I used a Sysinternals utility called page file defrag or something like that. Before it defrags, it restarts the system, so that it can defrag the page file along with the rest of the drive.

I am sure there are others out there as well, do a google search.
The Windows defragmentor will not do he page file.

Perhaps not quite what you described, but if I understand you correctly, will accomplish the same thing. I've been using it for years. Boot time defrag the MFT, Pagefile, in addition to standard disk defrag. Has network capabilities and can run automatically.
