Distributed SPAM networks

By editor's response ·
Have you had the unfortunate experience of coming into contact with a distributed SPAM network? Do you know how to read e-mail headers so that you can determine whether or not the e-mail is forged? Let us know if Jonathan Yarden's information concerning distributed SPAM networks is useful to you, as featured in the Feb. 17 Internet Security e-newsletter.

SPAM networks -attacks

by Gabriella In reply to Distributed SPAM networks

Never happened yet.. I hope not... but something my Internet (Intranet) company did... they have a "Spam fryer". You can select delete or put it in a special folder.. I choose for now folders, because many ads are not spams or junk mails: I discovered when I choose "delete" some were deleted and were not the bad ones.. (just started with ads ex: "webmd'. It is a godd thing to have a "SPAM FRYER". Maybe if your ISP introduce an application like this... It would be very useful for you... thanks for your good newsletters.

Distributed Spam et al

by wkpickett_0154 In reply to Distributed SPAM networks

I am seeing the proliferation of new- so called- blitznhide software that either hides the originator's isp info or otherwise masks it for email/UCE. I hope those who use it realize that shortly, there will be a way to ferret this/unmask the perp, and stop unethical use of an incredible tool for online sales and information distribution. I am always interested in hearing updates, and try to read all techrepublic ezines to keep ahead. Keep up the good work, ;-) William.
