Domain Question

I have had a look at loads of posts about joining multiple domains but my question is a little different.

I have an XP Pro Laptop provided by the company I work for; it?s used for Out of hours support.
I when in the office I connect to a Win 2K3 Domain. Obviously at the Logon I have the option to join the Domain or Logon Locally.

What I would like to know is, is it possible to have the company Domain, Local Logon and the Workgroup Domains listed at Logon?

I used to use my PC at home to provide Support and have some files on there I would like to transfer onto the Laptop. I could just Burn a CD with them all on, but I would still like the Laptop to connect to my Home Local Domain so I have access to accessories such as Printer.

Is it possible or is it the same problem as joining 2 Corporate Domains?

Thanks in advance

since it's company property

your best bet is to talk to the IT guys there and have them setup the laptop for you. That way they know about the changes.

log on locally

with admin privileges. Put your local machine user account on the other computer.

connect using \\computer name\share name and then provide credentials.

make sure the local machine network configuration is on the same subnet.

here's a MS KB on having hardware profiles for laptops which works well when you have different hardware settings such as work and home.

note: you don't need the laptop to be a member of the workgroup, but you do need your laptop user account on the other computer so that you can provide authentication.
