Uninstall all protocols and adapters in ControlPanel, Network. See MS Q181599 (Go to www.microsoft.com and search for Q181599) Uninstall NIC. You should, after uninstalling any software for it, physically remove the NIC. Reboot clean. Get up to date drivers for your NIC. Reinstall your NIC. Check network settings, make sure the protocols and adapters you want are installed, remove those you do not need.

If your TCP/IP stack is hosed, go to microsoft and get Q286748.

Usually, just removing the protocols and adapters and reinstalling will fix this. But if it does not, dig some more. What OS? What kind of NIC? Do you use the NIC? Do you have dialup inet? Will help to know so I can help.

Cheers!
