    by shaundyc ·

    gurus,

I have a file in Excel 2000 with password for protection, that automatically close when I type the password. Its the only file that make such a behavior on my entire files. Its a very important file. What causes this? I already scan for virus but still cant open it?

    Hope someone can help.

    Thanks

If there is a malicious macro, just disable macro . If it is in the start-up directory , transfer it to another directory, then open it macro disabled. If your security setting is low, make it medium so you can disable it. Delete the malicious code by going to tools, macro, visual basic, then go to each sheet or module and delete the code.

      Hi,

      try duplicating the file:
      – go to My Computer->”location of the file”
      – copy “filename”
      – rename “old filename”
      – paste “file”

then try opening the new file.

      goodluck

      Hello again,

navigate to the location of the file.

… select (by right-clicking) the file.
… go down to COPY, then left-click.
… move the pointer to the white background of the current window, then right-click the pointer then click PASTE or just press CTRL+V

Now you have a new copy of the file (COPY OF YOURFILE).

Double click the new file to see if this work.

      Happy to post.
