Is this message on a different partition than the part that has the 35 gb of free space?

We had a job fixing this recently

by john In reply to Exchange Server 2003 Trou ...

We had a job fixing this recently.

In our case it was the boot partition that had run out of space on A Dell server ( apparently quite common as the standard earlier Dell setup CD's did not give a big enough partition to allow for service packs etc )

Suggest you check all your disks and partitions for lack of space.

If you find one that is running low you are going to have to do a bit of re-sizing. We bought a copy of Acronis to do this as it is one of the best re-sizing and disk management utils for not screwing up your O.S. ! Still not for the faint hearted though and takes hours to do. Make a good backup before you start, just in case it all goes wrong !

As a temp fix, if it is your boot drive running low on space, you can move the Windows page file to another partition or drive.

Three ways to stop low disk space warning

by 41991437 In reply to Exchange Server 2003 Trou ...

Windows created the low disk space warning to alert computer users when their hard drive is running low on available disk space. Then you will see on a fairly regular basis as your hard drive fills up is the Low Disk Space warning: "You are running out of disk space on Local Disk [drive]. To free space on this drive by deleting old or unnecessary files, click here."

Here are three ways for your to solve such kind of problem(including some software like acronis disk director, easeus partition manager, etc):

Repartition the server

by longtail In reply to Exchange Server 2003 Trou ...

If there is free space, but the low disk space warning pops up, you can solve this problem by "regedit", seach in micorsoft page, I forgot the page.

If there is no free space, you need to repartition the server and extend the system partition, see this guide I bootmarked it.

add the 35gigs free space to your system partition

by nixx-w In reply to Exchange Server 2003 Trou ...

I would like to say third party partition management program can add the free space to the system partition. What's more, even if there is no allocated space adjacent to the system partition, you still can increase the system partition space by shrinking the latter one.
I found this server partition management software, it is interesting and nice one, especially the new version of Windows SP1
BTW, although partition wizard supports windows sp1, but it seems that it is not stable. That's my bad experience about partition wizard.
