file record segment xxxxx is unreadable

hey everyone,

i am trying to see what is wrong with my laptop HP dv210ca it is running soooo very very sloowww.... restart and shut down is so slow, opening anything taking so slow, i deleted all the uncessary programs already, defragemented the HD, clean the tempory files, and etc. i also did restore to factory settings after a few days it goes back to being so slow.. i did check disk for error and its showing in everything "file record segment xxxxx is unreadable"

does it mean my Hard drive is bad? do i need to change it? please advice .. thanks

did you let chkdsk fix the error?

chkdsk /f

if it fails due to an access problem, run it as chkdsk /x

Scan the drive with the drive manufacturer's diagnostic utility. You can find it at their website.
