FindFast

By stanleyp ·
I've asked this question before but haven't received a satisfactory answer. I upgraded from Win 98 to Win 2000. FindFast began misbehaving. I read all the Microsoft docs and followed all the instructions on deleting it. However, when I boot the computer I get the message that Microsoft Office FindFast cannot be started. Of course, I deleted it. Then I searched the Registry. MS Office is calling FindFast. How far can I go in removing FindFast from the Registry?
Thank you.

I think what you want is for one of us to tell you to go ahead and delete all the find fast entries in the registry. I won't tell you to do it. When you mess with the registry you are on your own, but it if it were me I would do it. I would also backup all of your data and be ready for a reinstall. It can always happen.

Just wanted you to know. I exported the registry, went in and deleted all references to FindFast. Restarted my computer and the error msg DID NOT Appear. I also set the notfindfast parameter to 1. So, I think the issue has been settled. Thanks for the push.
