    fix IE8 (32 bit) crashing when launched on Windows 7 professional 64bit?

    Hi all,

    This one has me stumped. I just made a new pc ( ASUSp8p67 mb, 8 GB ram, I7 2600 processor, boot drive 128gb SSD, data drive 250 GB Sata II) and loaded windows 7 professional 64 bit, Everything worked great (including ie 32 bit), loaded all the drivers.
    after doing all the driver installs and updates everything still was ok, I then installed MS office 2007, squeeze box software,

    then went back into IE 32 bit and it crashes with the following in the address bar.
    res://ieframe.dll/acr_error.htm#google.com,http://www.google.com/
    (yet IE 8 x64 works fine) I “googled” this and followed some “clean boot instructions” and turned off system services and startup items via msconfig, and ie 32 sorta works (it doesn’t crash), so then i turned on services only, rebooted and tried IE 32 bit, it crashes, so logically i thought, ok lets turn off services and turn on startup items, and rebooted, IE 32 bit still crahses, so i thought it must be something in both startup and services? any ideas?
