format drive

I Have a problem with F drive,in my system,

It does'nt opened ,its asking " should not opened you should format it now"

If formated I lost data what should I do

Do you mean when you try to open it from within Windows Explorer? I've never seen it say that you should not open it, but if it is not formatted, it will of course ask if you want to format. You have data on that drive obviously so I don't understand why it would prompt you to format.

I know that's not an answer but it may prompt a discussion that gets this figured out. ANy more details?

What 'type' of drive is at 'F:\'?

What operating system are you using?

What type of computer?

Well the first thing is to Test the Drive

With the Drive Makers Testing Utility if they have one. If they don't you can use the Seatools from Seagate located here

If the drive is OK you can then use some Data Recovery Software to Rebuild the Partition or Recover your Data. Depending on the OS being used there are different Software Packages available.
