Google OS - Do you need another OS and would you get it?

By p.j.hutchison ·
Google has finally announced it is developing Google OS using a Linux Kernel and intergrating web technology into its OS and use its web based application technology such as Gmail and so on and its initially designed for NetBooks.

Question is: Do we really need another OS on the market and if Netbooks came with GoogleOS, would you get one?

would I use it?

Maybe.

I learned my lesson with the last two notebooks I bought though. Vista just sucks the life out of them (especially after SP2).

I would check it out. But if it didn't play nice, I would ditch it for a regular Linux distro.

I can't be bothered anymore with crappy performance cause the OS has 70 processes running. Just silly.

I'm with jck. I'd give it a look and a chance, but I'm not falling all over myself with anticipation. Actually, I feel the same about Windows 7. I'll check it out, but Ubuntu will always be there for me.

'and intergrating web technology into its OS and use its web based application technology such as Gmail and so on'. Didn't Microsoft get into trouble for 'forcing' users to use it's own applications in Windows? hmmm..
