Hardware info wrong in XP

By djdbri2 ·
Okay I can't figure out if this is XP or nero. But anyway... I'm having a problem with XP showing my DVD-RW drive as a DVD-RW drive. Under 'My Computer' it used to always say CD-ROM but after uninstalling it in 'Device Manager' and restarting my computer it now says DVD-RW. But when I click on properties it still says its a CD Drive and defaults for it to autoplay music files. It never used to do this before. Under the hardware tap the info is correct, it used to just say CD-ROM now it says SONY DVD RW DRU-810A which is the drive I have.
Is this all normal? Because I can't seem to burn any DVDs anymore and I can't tell if its the DVD drive itself or if its just Nero acting up. When I try to burn anything (including files I've burned to DVD before) it says "Unable to prepare data for recording: Prepare session failed: Transcoding of videos failed".

There's also another problem with my CPU, in my BIOS it says I have a P4 3.0Ghz with 512K L2 Cache and 800Mhz FSB. Asus AI Booster says the same thing. But Nero InfoTool says that I only have 200Mhz Bus speed. Is there something wrong with Windows or is it just Nero?

If its just Nero is there a better DVD burning software out there for free? Because I've been using Nero forever, mainly because it came free with my SONY DRU-810A and it never gave me any problems before.
