Having problems with Google Chrome recently

By mach3funk ·
Hello I am wondering if anyone can help me pinpoint a problem that has started with Chrome recenty.

The problem is that the browser locks up and becomes unresponsive, I have to close it with task manager and then it works. This used to happen maybe once a week or so and I wasnt worried, lately it started happening all the time. Today I had to close the browser about 6 times, and sometimes it locked up again upon restarting it. Also just now some green pixelation came over the screen which I have never seen before.

That made me think it could be a video card problem? But I have been playing games all day long without any issues whatsoever. My pc is quite new and fairly high tech its about 2 years old and more than fast enough to handle a browser without issue.

Can anyone give me some tips about how to troubleshoot this problem?

On some systems, hardware acceleration can cause problems. Try disabling it. It’s a common fix.

1. Download
2. Open the zip file, then run the chromehwa.reg file.
3. Click “Yes“, then “Yes” again to import the registry change. Then select “OK”.
4. Restart Windows, then give Chrome a try.

Start with cleaning cache. If it will not help so you can try to reinstall the Chrome. If it does not work so you should try the older version of Chrome. You can get them here In this way, you can test if your system can work with the latest version because the problem may be with OS or hardware.
