heavy mcafee

By ssumahh ·
does mcafee want to approach the gig size in its sdat file, does it have the poor guys at heart who cannot afford to upgrade their memories or it's simply a marketing gimmick to get people to go buy memory?

Preaching to the choir

by NotSoChiGuy In reply to heavy mcafee

I much prefer the way Sophos handles def updates.

Network Associates should change the logo from a shield with a 'V' on it to a razorback. The product ain't nuttin' but a hog!

I like that comparison.

I don't use McAfee or Symantec at home. AVG Internet Security works great. Updates are less than 200kb

Me too, I fell out with AVG at version 8

by Tony Hopkinson In reply to I switched to avast

Aside from becoming a hog, it started telling me I had a virus and that it couldn't be cured unless I paid for the full version. Aside from being a false positive, I really really don't like hostageware.

Of course I realize...

that it is just a matter of time before Avast! does the same thing. It will add more unless junk to "compete" with AVG. Then we'll need to find another company that makes free personal av that works. But for now I just hope that they keep Avast! lean, mean, advertisement free and best of all...working.
