Boot & Nuke Available here

You can then load your choice of Linux by downloading what you want or buying a copy depending on what your needs are. However it would most likely be better to join a Linux Users Group and get the feel of things before you start you can find one listed here

Depending on who is near you and their personal preferences you'll get faster help. You can just join in and ask questions if you get lousy answers try another Users Group in your Area till you find one that helps you.

Try Ubuntu

You can order a free CD from Ubuntu is a user friendly distribution and you can try it before deciding to install it.

Just get the CD, change the boot order to CD instead of hard drive in BIOS (to get to the Setup screen, press a key like F10 or Del during the power on sequence, depending on the model of your PC), and boot from the CD. It loads Ubuntu Linux without writing anything on the hard drive.

Ubuntu is free and it comes with lots of free applications like Open Office.
