How do you resolve the Google Chrome conflict in Windows 7?

By jasonhiner Moderator ·
Google Chrome doesn't work in Windows 7 (64-bit version). I've tried this fix: http://tinyurl.com/7vkpbz. But it didn't work. I've heard that some type of update that needs to be done.

Anyone know how to get Google Chrome to work in Windows 7?

This may help

by Jacky Howe In reply to How do you resolve the Go ...

Run Regedt32 and do a search for chrome.exe only on the Data elements

Find the references to the following

C:\Users\Jason\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" -"%1″
Change it to

C:\Users\Jason\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" -in-process-plugins "%1″

If the registry fix is not working try and other dash before in.

When changing the shortcut on the dekstop to --in-process-plugins it has two dashes before in.

Edit: Formatting hopefully fixed.

Which build of Win 7?

Seems this trick works on build 6801.

I've heard it does not work on -7000, possibly other versions.
