Racist?

by TonytheTiger In reply to Ridiculuous Response

"Indian" is no more racist than "American" in this context. You were out of line.

450 years old? wow

"Black African brought to US 450 years ago by "free thinkers" like this person"

You where personally braught to North America 450 years ago by "free thinkers" you clearly remember?

You've got to share that youth potion you've been drinking.

Feel free to go back any time you like.

I'll buy you a ticket, one way, providing you sign away your citizenship to the USA and vow never to return.

You did step over the line

by djivan In reply to The simple answer?

"Incidentally- posting such gives honest, hard working Indians a bad name."

You assumed this person is an "Indian". The name could be Eastern European ... People of other nationalities and races do live in India.

"Unfortunately, we have gotten this very same question from a large number of unethical Indians..."

So, no one from any other race or nation, has ever asked this question ?

You crossed the line into racism when you directed your accusation to a specific race or nationality.

If you are Indian and you indentified your self as such up front, then that would have diffused how this reads. Or, substitute the word "people" for "Indian", and I have no problem with your statements.

Obviously I disagree

by Tig2 In reply to You did step over the lin ...

I made no assumption that the OP was Indian. His own profile identified India as his origin. But syntax of the original post was a further indication regardless.

At the time that this was originally posted, we had gotten a spate of same/similar questions all originating from the same geographical location. To this day, that is the source for a great many, however I do take your point. Anyone could ask the question.

My race is immaterial because I directed my comment to the fact that perception can be colored by a great many things. There was never any intent that it be construed as a racial remark but more a comment that negative thinking about any group of people can be colored as a result of the actions of a few.

Not really, Ivan.

TiggerTwo did not step over any line.

First, as she said, the person self-identified as "Indian".

Second, the rest of her remarks are understood by IT workers in all former British colonies, and most of the business world, in the context that India is a major emerging source of relatively inexpensive IT labor.

Whether you misunderstood, or intentionally obfuscated, is not my responsibility to determine. You are incorrect. That, I know.

If you are Indian and you indentified your self as such up front, then that would have diffused how this reads. Or, substitute the word "people" for "Indian", and I have no problem with your statements.

The descriptor "Indian" was a reference to nationality, not race. You have no valid objections. STFU.

CIA method

by CharlieSpencer In reply to how to break windows admi ...

The U.S. government's spy agency uses the following method to break an administrator password:

1) Deprive the password of sleep. Use bright lights and loud annoying .MP3s, such as Wayne Newton, Vanilla Ice, "It's a Small World", or any song from chase scenes in the original "Scooby-Doo" cartoon.

2) Deprive the password of a sense of time. No clocks, no windows, no regular schedule or routine, no connection to a time server.

3) Eventually (on most systems, 90 - 180 days), the password will break and tell you everything you want to know. However, if you aren't getting results as quickly as you'd like, try water-boarding, random electric shocks, Happy Meals, Will Ferrell movies, or reruns of "ABC's Battle of the Network Stars".

I just love to read the replies from the "real" members regarding questions like these. They make my day.

I enjoy all those things, that can't be torture.
