How to get the latest DNS settings?

By su ·

I have the following trouble with an Inspiron and another machine on our network:

I want to access a website that has changed hosts recently. Although my Linksys router is correctly tracing to the new IP address, the machine itself still goes to the old one.
All tricks like IPCONFIG/FLUSHDNS, deleting temp. Internet files or 'always get the latest version of the website' have not been successfull.

Anybody got another idea?

No. I could not try that one because after leaving both machines off over night they connected to the new server immediately. My guess is that disabling/stopping the DNS Client Service would be the right action, beacause then the machine does not store DNS entries and goes staight through the router.
Anyway, thanks to everyone here...

DNS addresses can be cached by your isp, this may take 24/36 hours to filter through until the new one filters down.

There is little you can do until the new IP address filters through your ISP with the correct IP address.
