How To Save Internet Icons

By Man@Large ·
I run a P-II 450 with Windows98SE. I've cruised all over the web and located several thousand icons. But, the ones that I'm looking for I only find when I bookmark a site with IE5.01. However, upon reboot or saving Favorites to Backup, the icons disappear. Is there a way to save the icons at the time of receiving, or is there a download for most major internet icons?

Any bitmap can become an icon.

If you see a picture you want, you can right-click it in the browser and Save Picture As to put it to your hard disk.

Then, you can change its extension to ICO to use it as an icon.

I use this feature so I know who I'm logged in as -- as a user, the My Computer icon is a picture of me, as an admin it's something else, and so forth.

God fortune,
Don
